Quick Answer
Swedish massage is the oil-based, full-body technique that opens every course at Vitamin Spa: long gliding strokes with oil along the back, shoulders, arms and legs, at a pressure you set out loud, on a warm table in a private single room. It is not booked as its own item — it is the phase the rest of the course is built on, and it is included in Course A (80 minutes, 1,200,000 VND), Course B (120 minutes, 1,600,000 VND) and Course C (80 minutes with two managers, 1,800,000 VND) alike. Add the fixed manner tip of 200,000 VND on A or 400,000 VND on B and C, pay in cash, and that is the whole cost. The shop is at 172/10 Bạch Đằng, Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa, open daily 10:00–00:00; book on KakaoTalk vitaminspa79, Telegram @vitaminspa or +84 935 812 485.

Best forGuests who want oil full-body work and care about pressure and technique

01What Swedish massage means on this table

Swedish is the technique most people already know without having a name for it: oil on the skin, long gliding strokes that follow the muscle rather than crossing it, kneading through the thicker areas, and lighter passes to close. It is the opposite of the dry, joint-focused work you get in a traditional Thai session, where you stay clothed and get stretched. Here you are on a table, under towels, with oil, and the work is continuous rather than positional.

Guests who arrive off a long flight, off a motorbike day trip, or off a week of sitting at a laptop in a hotel on Trần Phú generally want exactly this and no more. It is the phase that turns a stiff back into a usable one, and it is why every course begins with it rather than treating it as an optional extra.

02How is the pressure decided, and can you change it?

Pressure is set by you, out loud, and it is the single variable that most determines whether you enjoy the hour. The manager begins with a light pass to read the body — where the tension sits, where you flinch, how much you carry in the shoulders — and works up from there. That opening pass is not wasted time; it is the diagnostic.

Three sentences cover almost every adjustment anyone needs, and they work in any of the languages reception handles:

  • "Lighter, please." The most common request and the one guests hesitate over most. There is no prize for enduring it.
  • "Stronger on the shoulders." Region-specific requests work better than general ones — name the area rather than asking for "strong" everywhere.
  • "More time on the legs." The proportion of the session given to each area is movable, and it is easiest to move in the first ten minutes.

What does not work is saying nothing for 70 minutes and mentioning it at the door. Nobody can read a back through politeness.

03The oil, and why it changes the session

Oil is what makes gliding strokes possible; without it the same movement drags on the skin and turns into friction rather than pressure. It also means the session has a before and an after that dry massage does not: you shower before so the oil goes onto clean skin, and you shower after so you leave without carrying it into your clothes. Both showers sit outside the course clock, so neither costs you session time.

Two practical notes follow from that. First, if you have been in the sun all day — Nha Trang Beach, a boat out past Vinpearl, an afternoon at the islands — sunburnt skin and oil work do not agree, and it is better to say so than to grit through it. Second, if you have any skin condition, open wound or fresh tattoo, tell reception when you book rather than at the table, so the session can be planned around it.

04The sequence, front to back

Full-body means what it says, and the order is consistent so that the work builds rather than jumps around.

1

Back and shoulders. The longest phase for most guests, because it is where travel, laptops and airline seats leave their evidence.

2

Legs and arms. Long strokes along the length of the limb, working towards the body rather than away from it.

3

Closing passes. Lighter work to finish, so you get off the table relaxed instead of tender.

From there the course continues into its later phases — the prostate care and finishing care that are part of every course, described in order on Nha Trang prostate massage. If you would rather the oil work take up most of the time, say so at the start and the balance will be shifted towards it.

05How much oil work do you get in each course?

All three courses contain the same technique; what changes is how much table time it has and how many hands are on you.

Course A
80 min
1,200,000VND
A full oil pass over the whole body with time to spare on the back.
Course B
120 min
1,600,000VND
The oil work comes round twice, with a different manager for the second.
Most hands
Course C
Four Hands (2 staff)
1,800,000VND
Two people working symmetrically — the version that changes the technique itself.

※ Fixed manner tip, settled separately in cash: 200,000 VND on Course A, 400,000 VND on Course B and Course C.

Course C is the interesting one for anyone who cares about technique specifically. Two managers working symmetrically produce a sensation single-handed work cannot: both sides of the back are covered at once, and the mind stops tracking where the next stroke is coming from. That is the actual difference, and it is described in full on Nha Trang VIP men's spa.

06How does this differ from the other massage you can buy in Nha Trang?

Against a beachfront foot-massage shop: those are 30 to 60 minutes, seated or in a shared room, priced accordingly, and focused on feet and shoulders. Useful between the beach and dinner; not the same product.

Against a traditional Thai session: no oil, clothed, stretching and thumb pressure along lines rather than gliding along muscle. If your back is stiff rather than tired, Thai can be the better answer, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong hour.

Against a hotel spa treatment: closer in technique, usually shorter, usually more expensive, and mixed-gender. What differs here is that the venue is men-only, the room is a private single room, the price is published in advance and the session runs 80 minutes at minimum. The room side of that comparison is set out on Nha Trang private massage.

07Getting the most out of the hour

Eat lightly beforehand, drink water during the day and afterwards, and give yourself an hour before doing anything demanding. Book a later slot if you plan to go straight back to the hotel — the shop takes bookings until midnight precisely because that is when a lot of guests would rather have it.

And speak up in the first ten minutes. Every guest who has told us the session was not what they wanted has told us at the end; almost none of them said anything at minute five, when it could still have been fixed. The five-minute window for changing manager exists for the same reason, and it applies whichever course you booked — including the four-hand format on Nha Trang VIP men's spa.

08Where we are, and how to book

172/10 Bạch Đằng, Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa, every day from 10:00 to 00:00. Central enough to be a short trip from the Trần Phú hotel strip and Nha Trang Beach, and equally easy from Nha Trang Cathedral, Dam Market, Lotte Mart or the Vinpearl side of the bay. Guests landing late at Cam Ranh airport regularly take the last booking of the night; pickup within the city can be arranged when you reserve.

09FAQ

Can I book a Swedish massage on its own, without the rest of the course?
The oil work is the opening phase of Course A, B and C rather than a separate booking. If it is the part you care about, book any course and ask for the balance of time to sit there — that is a request the manager can act on.
What is the difference between Swedish and Thai massage in practice?
Swedish is oil on skin with long gliding strokes while you lie on a table under towels; Thai is dry, clothed, and built on stretching and point pressure. Stiff joints often prefer Thai; tired muscles almost always prefer Swedish.
What kind of oil is used, and can I ask about it?
A standard massage oil suited to long gliding strokes. If you have sensitive skin or a known allergy, say so when you book rather than at the table, so it can be checked before the session starts.
Will an oil massage leave me greasy for the rest of the evening?
No — there is a shower after the session as well as before, and neither is counted against your course time. Most guests are dressed and back on Bạch Đằng within twenty minutes of the table.
I burn easily and spent the day on the beach. Should I still come?
Tell reception when you book. Oil work over sunburnt skin is unpleasant and there is no point paying for an hour you cannot enjoy, so it is better to move the booking or plan the session around the affected areas.
Is deep pressure available if I normally find massage too gentle?
Yes, and naming the area gets you further than asking for "strong" in general. Say which part of the back or which leg needs more and the manager will work up to it from the opening pass.
Does a four-hand session actually feel different, or is it just faster?
It feels different. Two managers working symmetrically cover both sides at once, and the effect is less about speed than about losing track of where the next stroke lands. That is what Course C is for.
How much of an 80-minute course is spent on the oil work?
There is no published split, because it is adjusted to the guest. Ask for more of it at the start and you will get more of it; the sequence of phases stays the same either way.
Should I mention a recent injury or a fresh tattoo?
Always, and before the session rather than during it. Areas that should not be worked can simply be left alone, but only if somebody knows about them in advance.
Is a massage this long worth it after a flight, or should I sleep first?
Most long-haul arrivals book on the first evening for exactly that reason, and 80 minutes of oil work is a better answer to eleven hours in a seat than an early night is. The shop takes bookings until midnight, which suits late landings at Cam Ranh.
